What a month. Between a bunch of family things (good stuff, don’t worry), finishing up a basement remodel (thanks to the flood around Christmas), and intense work demands, time has flown. I’m glad that it’s Spring and the days are getting longer. We’ve had a some warmth here and there, which is great because March is usually a big bag of what-the-fuck. Some years we have feet of snow, some years we yield the sun to 30 days of rain, and some years it’s like the earth is on fire.
My garden is coming along! Can’t wait to start planting outside soon. My seedlings are getting cranky about their living quarters in their little pods and want to stretch their roots. Soon, my babies, soon.
And…what else…hm…what other important thing happened this month? Let me think. Oh right, I GOT SLEEP TOKEN TICKETS!!!! Fuck yeah, brother. I snagged some banger seats. Afterward, I watched a bunch of Tik Toks on the absolutely bananapants experiences that others had trying to get tickets. I feel lucky that the venue near me chose to NOT use Ticketmaster. I think that’s why it was easy. So yeah, DCU Center I’m comin for you on Sept 23rd. I’m bringing the ol’ ball and chain with me, who has impeccable music taste, but hadn’t heard about Sleep Token until I told him about it. Heh heh, explaining Sleep Token to a non-fan is pretty humorous. It was basically:
Me: so there’s this guy named Vessel and he worships Sleep.
G: Sleep? Like naps?
Me: No, it’s sort of a symbol of something bigger. And the concerts are…rituals? And they wear masks? I guess it’s categorized as metal, but it’s more diverse than that, really. There’s all this lore –
G: Oh, like Slipknot?
Me: Um, sort of.
G: Okay, okay. I mean, I love Slipknot, so. Did you know…(and off he went into Slipknot facts)
Lol, he’s great. Then again, I haven’t told him about the friendship bracelets yet.
The downside of being hella busy, though, is that my reading has slowed down and edged toward my comfort category: MM romance. Nothing wrong with that, of course. But now I’m deep into The Plated Prisoner series by Raven Kennedy and my emotions are being absolutely ROCKED. Just full on sob fest over here. It’s fine. I’m fine. Everything is fine.

What did you read March? Anything good? Let me know! Happy April. 🙂
