About Me & The Blog

I’m a mood reader from Boston, who likes to spend her free time hallucinating while staring at ink on dead trees. When I begrudgingly return to the real world, I work in tech and have other adult responsibilities. Somehow I’ve surrounded myself with people, who don’t share my obsession with all things book related, so I’m hoping that the Swoon blog can become a place were we can all snuggle up on the imaginary fainting couch and nerd out together.

I don’t know. Sometimes we throw shit at Kevin.

Just kidding. I have no idea who Kevin is. I do, however, fucking love bullet points, so here goes.

  • Around here we listen and don’t judge (sometimes we judge).
  • My content is the result of whatever chaos falls out my brain, but you’ll mostly find book reviews, deep dives on book themes/topics, and worship posts about my favorite authors.
  • The book reviews are positive and spoiler free because, A, spoilers are the worst and, B, I share what I like rather than what I don’t like. Disclaimers are clear if I post a review outside of this norm.
  • I read romance/romance adjacent books (contemporary, fantasy, sci/fi, lgbtqia+, etc).
  • I openly share about my mental health, to encourage others to choose the light amidst the daily fight (I really didn’t mean for that to rhyme…sorry). While we’re here, have you taken your meds? If not, hop to it. Go on. I’ll wait.
  • Welcome back. Where was I? Oh yes. I unashamedly read smut from time to time. I know that that’s not everyone’s jam. Rest assured that Swoon isn’t 100% focused on that, though, so feel free to stick around.
  • I swear like a truck driver. I’m from Massachusetts.
  • I’m addicted to caffeine and TikTok.
  • In addition to written content, I share my Spotify playlists and upcoming book release countdowns. I (try to) update the main playlist each month. The other playlists are categorized by mood, represented by a color. I like to listen to these at certain points in a book to enhance the experience.

Ok, I think that’s it. Thanks for visiting and reading! I’m glad you’re here.
