This week is one of the most stressful weeks that Americans have experienced in recent history. There will be violence if the election swings one way and if it swings the other way, things here are going to change significantly. The schools that some of my friends’ kids attend are closed today due to political unrest. I’m worried for my friends in Texas, for the safety of their female and transgender children. I’m worried for my friends, who fell in love with someone of a different color, and for their mixed race children. I’m worried for my very multicultural, queer team at work. There’s nothing else that I can do. I’ve done what I can, I’ve done my part in voting and advocacy. All I can do now is hope that people remember that the voting booth is secret. No one will know which circle you fill in.

Oh and for those of you who came here for the books, here’s what I read in Oct.
