Scream Singing Pink Pony Club is Good for the Soul

Just to be clear…we’re all scream singing “Pink Pony Club” by Chappell Roan for the entirety of summer 2024, right? Like, for mental health? Good good. Excellent.

Anyway, I’m back from vacay, where I Ov. Er. Dosed. on family time, grilled meats, and mayo based salads. I got a healthy dose of beach time, but not enough. It’s never enough. Oh! And! A friend of mine, who I haven’t seen since before covid times came to visit, all the way from California! That was such a fun time. Another friend, who I haven’t seen in a year was up in my area as well, so I went to see her too. Maybe it’s because I’m getting older, but I’ve been finding that it’s becoming really sad that all of my good friends live all over the country. I know I just need to put on my big person pants and make local friends, but, like, how? Plus, the ones I already have are the best people on the planet, so. Sigh.

This month I’m trying a new strategy of reading multiple books at once, inspired by one of my favorite booktokkers, Bailey Chadwick. From what I can tell from her social media, she reads several books at once – like maybe 10 or more(?) – so that when she shares her end of month review, she’s completed an insane amount of books. I’m definitely not juggling as many as she does at one time. I’m doing five at a time and that seems like more than enough.

In the beginning, I was completely overwhelmed, but now it’s actually kind of great. I don’t have time to bored of a story. I’m not sure if I will change my reading completely, but for this month, it’s a challenge I’m trying out. Maybe I’ll write a post later in July sharing my thoughts on this reading method.

That’s pretty much all I wanted to write about today. I know I’m late on my June reading wrap up, so that will be coming, most likely, on Wednesday. I also updated my “What I’m Listening To” playlist on the Spotify Playlists page, so feel free to check it out. The list is still pretty slim, so if you have any music recommendations, please feel free to comment below or email me.

Hope all is well! 🙂
