Let me preface this post by saying that this blog is VERY small. I get very few views and visitors, but as long as it’s a couple every day, I’m happy. I write because I’ve always written about something, whether it’s in a journal or stories or poetry or papers. These days I just happen to have a lot of opinions about books and no outlet for those opinions. Thus, this.
So, you can imagine my absolute shock to find that FORTY-SEVEN people visited this tiny blog yesterday. I tried to picture what 47 people in real life would look like, just hanging out in my house, chatting about books. The problem is that my house is small and it’s the end of the week, so I’m running low on snacks.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining. Quite the opposite. I’m excited to see that more people are reading my stuff. In the world of social media and short video content, it’s fun to see that people are still into this less popular (some would say “antiquated”) form of sharing. When I was younger, blogs were the Thing – with a capital T. There were about 10 or so that I read religiously, sneaking peeks of them during the work day. Over time, content became easier and faster to consume. It makes sense that long-form, written word would fade into the night.
That being said, thank you for visiting and reading. And especially thank you to the TEN of you who subscribe! Geez, you all actually elected to receive emails. Blows my mind.
Happy Friday everyone! Have a great weekend. 🙂
