Friday Ramble.

I sat in front a blank screen for about 48 hours, starting and re-starting this post. Honestly, I’ve got nothing today. I’ve been hitting the tik tok a little too hard lately and I think I might need to stage an intervention for myself. What would that even look like, I wonder? Needless to say, I’ve been letting my ADHD out to PLAY and while I’m suffering the consequences, IT is having a grand ole time.

This weekend I’m being let out of my enclosure, so I can go out of town for some family stuff. I’m hoping the change of scenery churns up some much needed refocus. Can’t exactly pick up my phone when I’m doing outdoor peopley things. I mean, I could, but I won’t.

As for reading, I’m about halfway through the third book in the Hades and Persephone series by Scarlett St. Clair. It’s way more slow going than I usually read, not due to the fault of the book. I think I just want to savor it a bit. Also, I was about a quarter of the way through before I realized that I had read it before and I had forgotten about the absolutely gut wrenching parts. Now I’m fully in it and I’m sad. Storygraph told me that I rated these books 4/5 the first time through and I can’t figure out why. They are incredible. I do think that once I get through this series I’m going to have to do some damage on KU before I hop into Empire of the Vampire. That story is dense and dark and requires brain power.

Oh! Speaking of which, Empire of the Damned arrived at my house last night and I squealed when I opened the package! It’s so beautiful. And! And! I follow Joseph Morgan on Instagram because, frankly, Klaus was the best character on Vampire Diaries (you can fight me on that) and…uh…I have a massive crush. ANYWAY, he posted a clip of him interviewing Jay Kristoff, which is apparently at the end of the audiobook! Two worlds collide and I am here for it. Oh shit, what if EOTV turns into a Netflix series and Joseph Morgan plays Gabriel de León. What do I need to do to manifest this?

In other book news, Jennifer L. Armentrout released the cover image for Born of Blood and Ash, which comes out on August 13th. I updated the Release Day Countdowns page with it, so feel free to ogle over its beauty. In CRAZY book news, I watched a tik tok claiming that Sarah J. Mass is a Zionist?!? Really? I haven’t had a chance to look into it further, but I feel like more people would be talking about it?

Wow, I guess I had more to say than I expected. Have a great weekend everyone!
